Benjamin Lupton and Mary Conklin married before 1787 in a part of Jefferson County, Virginia which is now in West Virginia. Benjamin's parents are not known, but he was probably a grandson of Joseph Lupton who settled in, what is now, West Virginia in 1741. Sarah Lupton Yerkes was born on December 24, 1787. Hannah Lupton Wallingford was born on October 24, 1792. Benjamin Lupton was born about 1795. Sarah married Josiah Yerkes in 1805 in Jefferson County. Hannah married James Wallingford in 1812 in Jefferson County. At the time of the 1830 census, a Benjamin Lupton appeared in Jefferson County, Virginia. The household consisted of a man between 30 and 39 (born about 1795), a woman between 20 and 29, 3 girls under 9, and a young woman they had enslaved. The Wallingfords moved to Hardin County, Kentucky before 1820 and the Yerkes moved to Ohio before 1830.
